Althebert “Bootie” Zephier, 82, of Marty died Friday, July 4, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Funeral services were, Wednesday, July 9, at the Greenwood Presbyterian Church in Greenwood. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood, with military honors.

Bernice Susan Tolsma was born October 13, 1931 west of Springfield in the Perkins area, the daughter of Peter and Annie (Odens) Tjeerdsma. She died Monday, May 5, 2025 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Tyndall, after an accident on the farm.

Betty Lou Bruner, 94, of Lake Andes, went to her heavenly home Monday, June 30, at Lake Andes Healthcare Center. Memorial mass will be Monday, July 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Lake Andes. Visitation will be Sunday, July 13 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Wilma Ashes, 77, of Lake Andes died Thursday, June 26, in Portland, OR. Funeral services were Saturday, July 5, at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial is in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood.Wake services will begin Thursday at the White Swan Community Center.

Kristy Selwyn, 44, of Wagner died Saturday, June 28, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner, the result of an automobile accident. Funeral services were Wednesday, July 2, at the Wagner National Guard Armory. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood.

Funeral services for Tina Kay Dangel, 48, of Lake Andes, were Friday, June 13, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mound City. Burial is in the Mound City Cemetery. Peters FuneralHomeinWagnerwas in charge of arrangements.

Floanne Hadd Hayward, a long time resident of Houston, Texas, passed away on May 29, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 2, 1929 in Lake Andes. She was preceded in death by her parents L.J. and Mary Holden Hadd of Lake Andes.

Linda K. Zephier died Friday, June 13 at her home in Marty. Funeral services were Wednesday, June 18 at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Marty. Burial was in the Cedar Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Wagner. Arrangements by Peters Funeral Home in Wagner.

Connie Waage, age 83, of Vermillion, passed away peacefully at her home on June 20, surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion, with burial to follow in Bluffview Cemetery.

Surrounded by family, Donald Harold Sieh passed away on March 15 at the age of 86. The second of five children, Don was born on November 19, 1938 in Burke to Harold and Edna Sieh. Don grew up on a farm East of Herrick, with his parents, three sisters, and a brother.
