Summer Reading Program begins this week at the Library virtually. The theme this year is Imagine Your Story. The programming started June 15th and concludes on July 17th. The library will be posting videos of library personnel reading storybooks, presenting puppet shows and explaining craft ideas.

City Elections were held in Pickstown and Wagner last week. The results are: Wagner Ward I - Rich Dufur challenged incumbent Scott Alderink and took the majority of the votes 26-14. Ward 3 - Edward Stimpson challenged incumbent Roger Schroeder. Schroeder took the majority of the votes 59-30.

Wagner Community Memorial Hospital and the Yankton Sioux Tribe teamed up last week to offer free COVID-19 Antibody Testing for those who live or work in Southern Charles Mix County. Testing centers were set up in Marty on June 10, Lake Andes on June 11 and in Wagner on June 12 and 13th.

The Christian Temperance Union of South Dakota will be holding their spring meeting Saturday, June 20 at the Wagner Community Church. The meeting will begin with registration and coffee at 9:30 a.m. The special speaker for the day is Craig Fleming.

MITCHELL, S.D. – Despite the postponement of Dakota Wesleyan University’s original commencement date of May 3, 2020, due to COVID-19, the university conferred 163 degrees to graduating students – 146 bachelor’s degrees, 16 master’s degrees and one associate degree.
