STATE FOOTBALL

On Thursday November 9th, the Avon Pirate football team traveled to the Dakota Dome, where they faced the Faulkton Area Trojans. The Pirates were ranked number one with a record of 9-2 whereas the Trojans were ranked number two with a record of 10-1.

THE VETERANS PROGRAM

On November 6th the school had its Fall Concert. It began with three musical selections from the Junior high choir then three musical selections from the Junior high band. All of the songs they played were all chosen themselves. After that, was three musical selections from the high school choir.

FALL CONCERT

On Wednesday, November 8, the Veterans Program was held in the auxiliary gym. The colored guard Pastor Rush said some prayers and the student body president Kocmich and Mr. Culver did a little speech and a video. The choir sang a song called, There She Stands.

CLASSROOM OF THE WEEK: 2ND GRADE

Katelyn Ulmer has been teaching 2nd Grade in Avon for eight years. A day in her classroom typically starts out with the second graders completing a morning paper, followed by calendar, daily news, and show and tell. Mrs.

WAGNER FFA ATTENDS NATIONAL CONVENTION

Two Wagner students, Madison Robertson and Emma Kreeger under the guidance of their FFA Advisor, Evan Papousek, attended the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN October 31st- November 4th.

EMMA YOST - DWU TIGER OF THE WEEK

Emma Yost, 2023 Wagner Community School (WCS) graduate and stand-out athlete, wasted no time making a big impression on the Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) fans.

WAGNER EARNS THIRD CONSECUTIVE STATE APPEARANCE

The Wagner Lady Red Raiders traveled to Pierre Tuesday, November 7th to face the Mobridge- Pollock Tigers in the SoDak 16 match. It was a hardfought battle between both programs.

PIRATES PUNCH THEIR TICKET TO THE DAKOTADOME

The Pirates punched their ticket to the DakotaDome after defeating the DeSmet Bulldogs 46-19 Friday, November 3rd in their final playoff game. Leading the Pirates with 5 touchdowns was junior Aziah Meyer.

LADY PIRATES DEFEAT CORSICA/STICKNEY 3-0 TO ADVANCE

Avon hosted Corsica/Stickney on Tuesday evening and took the win 3-0 to start off volleyball playoff action. Leading at the serve line was McKenna Kocmich with 2 aces. On the defense, Courtney Sees led the board with 12 kills, Rilyn Thury had 8 and Lila Vanderlei added 4.

LADY PIRATES SEASON COMES TO AN END AT REGIONS

Avon traveled to Bonesteel November 2nd to take on Tripp/ Delmont/Armour where they suffered the tough loss 2-3. The Pirates started the night off slow taking the loss the first 2 sets, but came back in the third and fourth sets with the win.
