An alumni basketball game was held over the Wagner Labor Day Weekend Celebration, many came to participate and watch.

The Avon Pirates (2-1) faced Freeman/Freeman Academy/ Marion on Friday, September 2 at home. The Pirates struggled in the first half. They came back strong in the second half but were still unable to claim the victory with a final of 24-34.

The Avon Lady Pirates traveled toParkstononTuesday,August30, falling short to the Trojans. Courtney Sees put up 11 digs and nine kills, while McKenna Kocmich added 14 set assists and nine digs. Lila Vanerlei added seven digs and one kill on the night.

It was a perfect night on a warm evening to kick off the first game of the Pirate Football season. On August 19, the Avon Pirates traveled to Colome, where they won the first game of theseasonagainsttheColome Cowboys.Thecrowd,cheerleaders, andplayerswerebusycheering on the boys.

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian fell to Avon in a close battle of five sets on Thursday. Scores of the matches were 20-25, 21-25, 26-24, 25-15 and 12-15. Leading AC/DC was Mahpiya Irving with 6 ace serves, 8 digs, 12 set assists and 6 kills.

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunder Cross Country Team ran in the Gregory Meet last Tuesday, August 30. The Girls Varsity Team of Anna DeHaan, Lexi Schoenfelder, and Eilie DeHaan placed second in the team scores with 19 points compared to the first place team of Chamberlain with 6.

The Gregory Cross Country Meet was held Tuesday, August 30th.

The Wagner Lady Raiders traveled to Plankinton on Tuesday, August 30th to take on the Titans. Although the Raiders started off slow, they stepped up and earned the win. Scores of the match were 26-24, 25-22, and 25-16.
