On Friday, July 26, the 14U Teeners of Wagner VFW Post 7319 traveled to Beresford to take part in the Class A state tournament. The first game was played against Elk Point-Jefferson and it was a high scoring affair. Wagner, unfortunately, ended up on the short end of a 16-13 score.

Elite 14, Freeman 3 The Southeast Elite took on the Freeman Rebels Wednesday. In Game one, the Elite took a 14-3 win. The Elite scored one run in the first when Sidney Johnson walked, stole second, and then scored on a series of wild pitches.

The Annual Open Class “Flower Show” will be held during the Bon Homme County 4-H Achievement Days. The flower exhibits should be entered on Thursday, August 1st, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the 4-H Grounds. The two show divisions for the cut flowers are 1. Single bud/flower and 2.

On Tuesday, July 16, Wagner’s Post 11 Legion team traveled to Chamberlain and lost an extra inning contest by a score of 6-5. Matt Link started on the mound for Wagner. Matt would make it 6.

On Tuesday, July 16, Wagner’s VFW Post 7319 14U team made the jaunt to Hot Springs to take on Chamberlain and the host Hot Springs Rattlers to determine Region 2A’s representative in the state tournament in Beresford July 26-28. Wagner’s first opponent was Chamberlain.

On Wednesday, July 10, the Post 7319 teeners traveled to Mt. Vernon and played some rather uninspiring baseball. The 14U team lost by a score of 5-0. Ed Ulrich had the lone Wagner hit. Dominic Doom started on the mound and did not pitch poorly.

On Tuesday, July 9, Wagner’s Post 11 Legion squad played host to Alexandria and things did not go well from the start as Wagner would drop this contest by a score of 17-0. Matt Link started on the mound for the home team and things did not go as he’d have liked.
