RAIDERS FALL IN REGION FINALS

The Lady Raiders hosted the MVP Titans last Thursday night in the Region Finals game to advance to the SoDak 16. It would become a physical affair that would take its toll on the Raiders later in the game. MVP would hold a 14-11 advantage after the first quarter and then a 27-17 halftime advantage.

RAIDERS HOST PLATTE-GEDDES IN OPENING ROUND OF REGIONS

The Lady Raiders hosted the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers 4 days after their final regular season match up. In this game the first half was a bit more smooth sailing for the Raiders as they took a 12 point halftime lead with a 39-27 advantage.

BH/S/A GIRLS STATE QUALFIERS

Bon Homme/Scotland/ Avon will take five girls to the state wrestling tournament this Thursday-Friday-Saturday, February 22-23-24, at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls. Britney Rueb, 120-pound Sophomore, is 24-2 and seeded second.

SDHSAA REGION 3B RESULTS FOR BH/AVON

Results from the SDHSAA Region 3B held in Parkston Saturday include: 106 Ryvr Larson (31-10) placed 3rd and scored 17.0 team points,Champ.

BOYS BASKETBALL RESULTS

Avon 41, KWL 52 Avon hosted Kimball/White Lake February 16th where they boys found themselves down 41- 52 as the final buzzer sounded.

AVON GIRLS DEFEAT GAYVILLE/VOLIN 55-44

The Pirates were on the road February 13 to take on Gayville/Volin where they took the win 55-44. Rilyn Thury led the scoreboards with 17 points, Lila Vanderlei had 15 and Courtney Sees added 13. Lila Vanderlei led in rebounds pulling down 5 and Kinley Doom added 4.

2ND GRADERS BRING HOME 1ST PLACE

The Avon 2nd Grade Basketball team placed 1st at the Hansen-Haas Basketball Tournament in Yankton Saturday, February 17th. The boys played four games and showed some great teamwork!

LADY THUNDER DEFEATS K/WL

Andes Central/Dakota Christian defeated Kimball- White Lake Thursday, February 15th 53-43. Mahpiya Irving was the leading scorer with 16 points, Nadia VanZuidam scored 13 and Josie Brouwer 11. Halle Olson pulled down 6 rebounds, Josie Brouwer 6, Leah Brown 4 and Nadia VanZuidam 4.
