The Wanger boys basketball team lost to Bon Homme on Tuesday night in region play. The Raiders trailed 12-13 after the first period. Wagner outscored Bon Homme in the second period and led 26-22 at half time.
The wrestlers made the trip to Sioux Falls for the State Wrestling Tournament. Going into this tournament I felt they were all ready to go and had prepared the right way. It was all about showing up and putting together the best matches of the year.
The Avon Music Department had to change the date of their Spring Concert due to getting the gym prepped for Prom. The original date was March 21st, but it has been changed to March 18th.
Region girls basketball action started at Avon last week with the Pirates taking on Corsica/Stickney. Avon took the big win 65-44.
Courtney Sees led the scoreboard with 23 points, Rilyn Thury had 20 and McKenna Kocmich 12.
Sees pulled down 9 rebounds and Lila Vanderlei had 6.
Wagner played Platte-Geddes Friday night at home. Points were hard to come by for both teams. Wagner trailed 10-5 after the first period and 14-21 at half time. The Raiders cut the lead by 1 point in the third period but could not get any closer. Wagner lost by a final score of 31-40.
The Raiders finished off their regular season with a heartbreaking loss to Beresford on Monday night. The Watchdogs jumped out to a 19-17 lead after the first period and led Wagner 30-23 at halftime.
