ANDES CENTRAL AAU WRESTLING CHAMPIONS

Andes Central qualified 11 AAU Wrestlers to the AAU State Wrestling Tournament that was held March 15th-17th in Rapid City at The Monument. Out of the 11 wrestlers, eight of them brought home medals.

31ST EAST-WEST SHOOTOUT RESULTS IN THE BOOKS FOR 2024

The 31st annual East-West Shootout, sponsored by the Gregory Athletics Club, was held on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium. Boys’ Game The West defeated the East by a score of 112 to 104. Scoring results for the West team: Dakota Munger, 23 pts.

WAGNER AAU STATE WRESTLING RESULTS

Wagner Community School qualified eight wrestlers to the AAU State Wrestling Tournament that was held March 15th -17th in Rapid City at The Monument. Out of the eight qualifying wrestlers, five of the wrestlers brought home medals.

RAIDERS CLAIM CONFERENCE TITLES FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR

The Lady Raiders outright won the LMVC Conference for the third consecutive year going undefeated 5-0 and placing 4 players on the All-Conference Team upon voting by conference coaches. Macy Koupal and Lydia Yost are 3-time LMVC all-conference players.

AVON HIGH SCHOOL’S FIRST FEMALE WRESTLERS

Avon had two girl wrestlers on the Bon Homme/Scotland/ Avon girl’s wrestling team this 2023-2024 wrestling season. Ashley Tolsma and Hope Kemnitz were both first year wrestlers on the team. This is the fourth year since South Dakota first sanctioned girls wrestling in 2021.

STATE FREE THROW CONTEST WINNER

The Knights of Columbus held their annual State Free Throw Contest Sunday March 3rd in Chamberlin. Clarah Soukup participated in the 11 year old girls division and Cooper Slaba shot in the 12 year old boys division. Only the top 8 shooters in the state are invited to shoot in the competition.
