Wake services for Charles Selwyn, Sr., 29, of Lake Andes, began Thursday at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Graveside funeral services were Saturday, July 9 at the Native American Church Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Betty Lou Harmacek, 86, of Avon passed away in Alexandria on Thursday, July 7. A Celebration of Betty Lou’s Life will be held at a later date. Peters Funeral Home in Avon is in charge of arrangements. Betty Lou Harmacek was born April 17, 1936 in Wagner to Steve and Ella (Vilhauer) Merkwan.

Jerome Zephier, 35, of Marty died Monday, June 27, 2022 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Funeral services were Friday, July 1 at the Marty Community Center in Marty. Burial was in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Marty. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

William "Bill" Thomas Millar, 54, died at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Funeral service was Wednesday, July 6 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Geddes with burial following in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Geddes.

Cheryl Ann Ahrens, age 67, of Yankton, died on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton. Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, July 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton. Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton was in charge of arrangements.

Gene LeRoy Gross was born on July 2, 1939, to Jacob S. and Elizabeth (Kleinsasser) Gross in Freeman. Gene married the love of his life Labelle Streyle on June 11, 1961. In this union they had one daughter, Kandy Rae. Gene started his adult life owning a radiator and repair shop in Wagner.
