Charles Mix Electric Association of Lake Andes is proud to announce that Shalayne Nagel has been chosen as a “Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week” by Dakota News Now. Shalayne is a senior at Wagner Community School.
The Lady Raiders would head into the Semi Finals against a formable opponent that had size and shooters to match up with Wagner. It was like a replay from the Rapid City Christian game. The Raiders would jump all over the Redman with a commanding 16-4 lead after one.
On Championship Saturday the Lady Raiders would clash with the Hamlin Chargers. It was two heavy weights going blow for blow in the first half. Both teams would score on f 5 of their first 6 possessions.
The Lady Raiders opened the state tournament against a very good Rapid City Christian team that featured one of the top players in the state scoring over 2400 points in her career. That wouldn’t scare the Raiders as they would jump out to an early 12-0 lead and then hold a 16-3 lead after one.
Avon 15 4 9 14 12 54 ACDC 10 8 14 10 6 49 Avon Pirates hosted the Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunder team on February 27 where the Pirates defeated the Thunder in overtime to take the win 54-49.
This was an exciting game that had fans on their feet throughout.

Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunder's season came to an end after they went neck and neck with Avon on Monday, February 27th in the first round of regions. They fell short, 48-54 to the Pirates in overtime.
The number 6 seeded Red Raiders traveled to Alexandria to take on the number 3 seeded Hanson Beavers in the first round of region 5 play on Tuesday night. Wagner got off to a bit of a slow start, they trailed 21-7 after the first quarter.
