POPPY DISTRIBUTION

The American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Unit #0011 will be out canvassing local businesses distributing poppies to help support military personnel. They will be out and about on May 15 and 16.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB TEENS PAINT CONCESSION HOUSE

Boys and Girls Club Keystone Club members painted the Hennies Field snack shed on Monday, May 5. Keystone is a leadership development program for young people ages 14 to 18. Youth participate in activities in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation and community service.

CHARLES MIX 4-H KIDS EXCEL AT STATE SHOOT

Youth from the Charles Mix County 4-H Shooting Sports program qualified for State Shoot. They traveled to Ft. Pierre on April 25-27. Charles Mix County was well represented, as there were many awards received. NAME - SCORE - RIBBON PLACING CWSR ARCHERY Beginner: Lane Koupal - 108.

65th Wedding Anniversary Open House

Willard and Darlene (Buchholz) Goehring were married March 20, 1960 at the Danzig Baptist Church, rural Avon. They have three children: Kim (Keith) Frey, Brian (Jessie) Goehring, Terry (Tracy) Goehring; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

WAGNER CEMETERY NAME CHANGE

During the summer of 2020, local community members volunteered to serve on a newly formed board to manage the perpetual care and maintenance of the local ZCBJ Cemetery.
