On Thursday, June 8, Wagner’s Post 11 Legion team traveled to Platte to take on the White Caps in one game. Matt Link got the start on the mound. He would last four innings. Two of those innings were pretty good. Two were less than desirable.

On Monday, June 5, Wagner’s Post 7319 Teeners played host to the Angels of Alexandria. The 14U team got things started. Steven Peters got his first start of the season. He lasted three innings giving up five runs, three of which were earned, on three hits while walking four and striking out seven.

The Bon Homme baseball team participated in the State High School Baseball Tournament May 29 and May 30 in Sioux Falls and opened tournament play against newcomer Rapid City Christian.

On Wednesday, May 31, Wagner’s Post 11 Senior Legion baseball team traveled to Parkston to partake in their first game of the year.

The Wagner Post 7319 VFW 14U and 16U Teener teams started their seasons this week with games in Corsica. As usual the 14U team started out first and would fall to the home team by a 4-1 score. Cruise Koupal started on the mound.

Wagner Midgets watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 13-2 loss to Parkston 12U on Wednesday. Parkston 12U scored on a single by Luke and a double by Crew in the first inning.

The Award winners for the first season of Avon High School Softball were: Most Improved and Miss Positive: Kim Tolsma, Best Hitter: McKenna Kocmich, Most Valuable: Ashley Tolsma, Best Pitcher: Karlie DeVries and Macy Voigt, Most Hustle, Courtney Sees and Rilyn Thury.
