On May 8, 2022, Katelynn (Katie) Wells landed this 14.91-kilogram (32-pound, 14-ounce) black grouper while fishing aboard “Off the Rock” out of Key West, Florida. With this fish Wells has set the IGFA Women’s 10-kg (20 lb) Line Class World Record for the species.

Wagner Red Raiders football team traveled to Miller to take on the Rustlers last Friday night. It was a beautiful fall night for an opening to the 2022 football season. Wagner jumped out to an early lead with a 42-yard touchdown pass from Chris Nelson to Glenn Cournoyer.

The Wagner VFW Post 7319 16U Teener team traveled to North Sioux City to partake in the 2022 state tournament. The first round matched us up with the host team, Dakota Valley. Carter Cournoyer would get the ball to start this tournament.

The Region 1A 16U Teener tournament was hosted in Wagner July 25-27. In addition to Wagner, Chamberlain, Madison Gold, and Wessington Springs would also be competing for a spot in the state tournament. The first game would pit Wagner against Chamberlain.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of friends and family, I’ve done quite a bit of fishing this year. This action included Francis Case Reservoir, Saskatchewan, area bass ponds, and lately Wisconsin’s Lakes Mendota and Winnebago.

On Monday, July 18, Wagner’s 16U teener team traveled north of I-90 into McCook County to take on the Salem Cubs. This was a pitcher’s duel as Carter Cournoyer for Wagner and Carter Randall for the Cubs made quick work of most batters.
