LADY RAIDERS ADVANCE TO STATE

The Wagner Lady Raiders are once again headed to the Class A State Basketball Tournament after a strong defensive performance in Irene last Thursday night. Wagner defeated Dell Rapids 46-31 to secure their spot in the state tournament for the fourth time in the past five years.

CELEBRATING NEWSPAPER IN EDUCATION WEEK

Newspaper in Education Week is a time to recognize the important role newspapers play in classrooms and communities across the country. Observed each March, the week highlights how local newspapers serve as valuable learning tools for students of all ages.

Great things are happening here at Andes Central Schools. All students helped celebrate National School Choice Week by doing various activities, such as filling out “Why I Love My School” cards, videoing themselves talking about why they love Andes Central, and posing for pictures with backdrops.

UNDEFEATED SEASON ENDS WITH STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR KNEBEL

Senior Gannon Knebel’s persistence paid off in a big way Saturday, February 28, in Sioux Falls. Competing in the 215-pound weight class, the Wagner Raider capped an undefeated season by winning the state championship after finishing as runner-up the past two years.

SIX GIRLS ADVANCE TO STATE WRESTLING

Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon will take six girls to the state wrestling tournament this Thursday-Friday-Saturday, February 26-27-28 at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.
