The funeral service for David “Bud” Wiebenga, 90, of Springfield, will be held Friday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m., at the Emmanuel Reformed Church, Springfield. Burial will be at the church cemetery, rural Springfield, with military honors.

Services for Charles Bryan, 95, of Avon and Joanne will be held Friday, May 1 at 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Avon, with military honors, Eastern Star and Masonic Rites. Visitation is at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Michael Dean Hazuka “Mike' of Lake Andes, owner of Mash Transportation, died at the age of 69 on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Wagner Community Memorial Hospital-Avera in Wagner from complications of a craniotomy resulting in cardiopulmonary arrest with subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Chauncey Cletus Blaine, 42, died Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Funeral services were Monday, April 13 at the Marty Community Center. Burial was in the Holy Fellowship Episcopal Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Matilda P Martin, 82, of Wagner, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Avera Queeen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, due to complications of pneumonia. She was born October 4, 1943 to Norman and Mary (Zephier) Selwyn.

Funeral services for Bryan Cermak, 64, of Marty were held Monday, April 6, at the YST South Gym in Wagner. Burial was in the Wagner Cemetery. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.Bryan Cermak, 64, of Wagner, nicknamed “Old Crow” a name given by his nephew Justin.

Margaret Ann Burfeindt was born to Joseph and Mary “Mamie” (Bouska) Carda on June 10, 1936 in Tabor. She passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Tyndall, having attained the age of 89.Margaret graduated from Tabor High School in 1954.

Funeral Services for Jean Christjans, 82, of Avon were held Saturday, March 21 at the First Baptist Church in Avon. Burial followed at the Baptist Cemetery. Peters Funeral Chapel in Avon was in charge of arrangements.Jean was born October 12, 1943, in Yankton to Nathan and Dorothy (Radack) Pritzkau.

Eleanor Anderson, 103, was born June 6, 1922 at Kimball, the daughter of James and Emma (Pospichal) Moysis. She died Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall.Eleanor was united in marriage to Jens Anderson on June 29, 1947 at the Methodist parsonage in Wagner.

Donald D. VanAsperen, age 80, of Beatrice, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at the Beatrice Community Hospital surrounded by his family.He was born in Avon to Samuel and Virginia VanAsperen of Wagner on April 27th, 1945.
