Jerry Kirchhevel of Geddes, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. He was born on November 2, 1938, in Lake Andes, to Chris and Meta Kirchhevel.Jerry was a lifelong resident of the Geddes area and held a deep connection to the community he called home.

Martin “Marty” John Boese, 75, went to his heavenly home Monday, March 2, 2026 at his home near Geddes. Funeral arrangements are pending at this time. A celebration of Martin’s life will be held Saturday, May 30 at 1:00 pm at the Geddes Community Center in Geddes. Arrangements by Koehn Bros.

Services for Bessie Cante Wastewin Weddell, 43, of Marty, were held Saturday, May 16 at the YST South Community Gym in Wagner. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Mass for Edward Novak will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 22 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wagner. Inurnment will be in the Wagner Cemetery with military honors. Visitation with family will be from 6 - 7 p.m. on Thursday at the church followed by wake services at 7 p.m.

Gary Lee Frank, 78, of Avon, died Saturday, May 2, 2026, at St. Benedict Health Center in Parkston. Funeral service was held Thursday, May 7 at Friedens Reformed. Burial with military rites was held at Friedens Reformed Church Cemetery.

June Hurtado, 68 of Valentine NE passed away on Sunday April 26, 2026, in Bassett NE. She was born on March 28, 1958, in Parkston to Gilbert Kornder and Elizabeth (Labor) Kornder of Delmont.

Ellsworth Wayne Chytka, a proud member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe, began his journey to the spirit world on May 5, 2026 at the age of 78 at Douglas County Memorial Hospital, Armour after a lengthy illness.

'John 'Jack' A. Schuldt, 90, of Burlington, died Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Addington Place in Burlington.John Adam Schuldt was born on November 5, 1935, in Wagner, the son of Louis Edward and Sylvia Lillian (Stedronksy) Schuldt. Jack graduated from Wagner Community High School in 1954.
